Robert Bruscato, P.E.
Senior Engineer

Robert Bruscato began his career as a Production Metallurgist for DK Aerospace and has worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron, as well as for Fluor Engineering. He spent his most recent 18 years as Project Manager-Welding, Metallurgy, for Smurfit Stone Container. He has been responsible for metallurgical engineering projects in the areas of fabrication, materials selection, failure analysis, testing, research, and welding.

Mr. Bruscato is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and a member of the American Welding Society.

As a member of the American Society for Metals, Mr. Bruscato has served on the Welding Applications Committee, and as a member of the executive committee and past Program Committee Chairman for the Chicago Western Chapter. He is also a member of the ASTM, serving on Committee A-1 for Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys.

Mr. Bruscato has served on several committees and Task Groups of the Metal Properties Council. He has taught evening courses in metallurgy at local colleges.

Mr. Bruscato has authored papers in the areas of heat treatment, embrittlement phenomena in steels, brittle fracture, pressure vessels and tanks, crack fracture toughness, failure analysis and welding of stainless steel.
